NEW GLASGOW – Joyce Chiasson, age 66, New Glasgow, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 24, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Tanner Hill, she was a daughter of Violet Elaine MacLean, Tanner Hill Road, and the late John Edward MacLean. Besides her mother, she is survived by sister, Helen McLeod (Ken), Braeshore; brother, John Douglas, Halifax; aunt, Rose Gordon, Mill Brook; nephews, Scott (Shirley) and Todd McLeod; three grandnephews and several cousins. Besides her father, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, George Chiasson; a sister, Mary MacLean; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Marion Aldridge; and paternal grandparents, Ira and Agnes MacLean. Visitations will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 o’clock from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville. Interment will be in Durham Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the M.S. Society, the S.P.C.A. or to a charity of one’s choice.
