Passed on: March 31st, 2008

KINGS HEAD – Judith Irene "Judy"Green - 66, Kings Head, Pictou County passed away suddenly March 31, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born October 20, 1941, in Windsor, she was the daughter of Bertha Fern (Milberry) Hennigar and the late Sidney B. Hennigar. Judy had been a resident of Kings Head since 1981. Her home was her refuge, and she loved the solitude and the view of the ocean. Her backyard was a veritable bird sanctuary, where her multitude of feeders attracted every feathered friend within 100 kilometres. She and her Ragdoll cat, Oh Riley Morning Dove (Riley to his friends), spent hours watching the birds feed. Judy was a true friend, particularly when her friends were in need, and she will be missed by everyone. When you called Judy you were always received with an attentive ear and an open heart. Her lobster and beef dinners were legendary, and there were often coincidental drop-in visits at suppertime when word spread that she was hosting one. Judy’s work career began at the Bank of Nova Scotia, and she moved from there to legal secretary work at a number of different law offices, both in Ontario and here on the East Coast. During most of the past 30 years Judy worked with Ian A. Mackay and Associates, and continued to play an integral part in that operation until last Friday. Judy is survived by her partner, Ian Alexander "Sandy" Mackay, Kings Head; daughter, Dawn Green (Tony Webb), Halifax; stepsons, Shane Mackay, Alberta; Jay Mackay, Bedeque, PEI; brothers: Leland Hennigar (Betty), Kennetcook; Charlie Hennigar (Diane), Kennetcook; Glyn Hennigar (Susan), Barrington Passage; and numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Douglas, in infancy. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon on Friday, April 4, 2008, until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel in New Glasgow, with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the S.P.C.A., or you could just spread some seeds around your back yard for the birds.
