
Laura Jean Yuill

WESTVILLE ROAD - Laura Jean Yuill, age 91, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007 in the Maritime Oddfellows Nursing Home, Pictou. Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late George Leo Martin and Christina (Boudoux) Martin Reim, and a step-daughter of Joseph Reim. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton; a member of the Ladies Guild, and taught Sunday School at the Mission Hall when it was on the Westville Road. She was also a member of the Crystal Fountain Rebekah Lodge No. 11 Westville; a Past President of 9-10 A. She is survived by two sons, Albert Edward "Eddie" (Jane) and John "Jack" (Pat); all of Toronto, Ont.; sister, Margaret Lowe, Westville Road; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Joseph Brenton Yuill; son, Dr. George Yuill; daughter-in-law, Corinne Yuill; two brothers, Cecil Leo Martin and Wentzell Reim; and sister, Leona Dobson. Visitations will be held Thursday, August 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Rev. Iona MacLean officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to the I.W.K. Grace Hospital, Halifax, the Crystal Fountain Rebekah Lodge, or the First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton. The family is indebted to the management and staff of the I.O.O.F. Home, Pictou, for their loving and compassionate care for Laura over the past 5-1/2 years, particularly the past 8 months as Laura's health deteriorated. She could not have been in better hands. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
