PICTOU - Laura Pearl Murphy, 77, of Pleasant St., Pictou, passed away August 19, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow. Born in Pugwash, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Myletta (Ferdinand) Belleville. Laura enjoyed travelling, camping and for many years, harness racing. An avid card player, she was a member of the New Horizons Senior Citizens Club, Pictou, and also attended many auctions over the years. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by her family: husband, Lester; children: James (Linda), Pictou; Frank (Barb), Pictou; Jane (Gary) Muir, Pictou; June (Ray), Rankin, Pictou; Betty Fraser, Pictou; Dale (Darlene), Coldbrook; Margo, Pictou; Laureen (Bob), Lyons Brook; Ron (Tanya), Lyons Brook; 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Myletta Belleville, Pictou; Mildred (Frank) Stewart, Pictou; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Lila Mattinson; brother, Theodore; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, with Rev. Bill White officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Cremation will then take place with burial at a later date in Seaview Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
