Margaret Allison Macquarrie

STELLARTON - Margaret Allison MacQuarrie, 88, of Belmont Ave., Stellarton, passed away peacefully at 11:11 p.m. on February 14, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Roy MacQuarrie and was the only daughter of the late J.P. and Emma (MacKenzie) Cruikshank of Sunny Brae. She is survived by her caring daughters, Alma (Charlie) Mutch, Mt. Herbert, PEI, and Laurel (Eric) MacDonald, New Glasgow, NS. Beloved Nanna to David (Jeni) Mutch, Jana Mutch, Bradley (Caren) Mutch, Leanne Margaret Mutch, Kelly Rae MacDonald and Erica MacDonald. Special Nanna Peg to Matthew and Chloe Mutch, Luke Mutch and Luke Alexander. Margaret is also survived by her devoted brother, Albert Cruikshank; brother-in-law, George Rae; sisters-in-law, Louise Cruikshank (Barney) and Ferne MacQuarrie. Special Aunt Peg to Cheryl MacKean (Red), Judy Carruthers (Ron), Jim Cruikshank (Phyllis), Janice Cruikshank, Trudy Moore (Bill), Tammy Cruikshank and Roy (Ann), Eoin (Linda) and Donald MacQuarrie. Margaret was predeceased by her brother, Fred Cruikshank. She was an elder and valued member of Sharon St. John United Church, Esther Ruth Group of UCW, and Pictou Presbytery. She was also active in the Stellarton Aberdeen Hospital Auxiliary, Pictou County P.C. Women's Assoc., Pictou Co. Roots Society, and Sharon Quilters as well as an executive member of the Pictou Centre P.C. Association. For many years she enjoyed her work as receptionist for Dr. Vernon MacDonald. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton with Rev. John Roy officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in Margaret's memory may be made to Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society, c/o H.C. MacQuarrrie Funeral Home, P.O.
