NEW GLASGOW - Margaret Elizabeth MacFarlane, 82, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Aberdeen Avenue and Smith Lane, Abercrombie, passed away Friday, April 13, 2007, in the Manor. Born in Tatamagouche, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Mabel Ruth (Sarty) Reid. Margaret enjoyed knitting, crocheting and dearly loved her family. Surviving are daughters, Agnes Campbell (Les), Florence MacLean (Wayne), New Glasgow; sons: Maynard (Jean), Abercrombie; David (Jean), Jimmy (Linda), George (Nancy), New Glasgow; brothers, Lloyd Reid, Tatamagouche; Sandy (Helene) Reid, Moncton, N.B.; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel MacFarlane; brothers, Lester, Lawson, Layton "Teddy", Wilfred, Cecil, Albert; half-brother, Chester. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Captains James and Deborah Sinclair officiating. Interment will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of choice.
