ABERCROMBIE - Marion "Phyllis" Thomas, RR 3 Abercrombie, passed away August 19, 2007, in the QE II Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Stellarton, November 5th, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Georgina (Baxter) Anderson. Phyllis was a resident of Abercrombie all of her married life. For many years she was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton, former Sunday school teacher, member of the A.C.W. and secretary of the Valley View Villa Auxiliary, Riverton. She was also a member of the Bluenose Descendants Rug Hooking Club and the former Abercrombie Card Club. Surviving are her husband, Philip Thomas, Abercrombie; son, Robert (Donna) Thomas, Wolfville; daughters, Jane (Scott) MacLeod, Kentville; Beverly (David) Brenner, Ottawa; eight grandchildren; sister, Helen Fisch, Ottawa; brothers, John, Halifax; and Gerald R., Sudbury. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton, with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
