Mary Grace Clark

Meadowville - It is with deep regret and sadness the family announces her peaceful passing in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on July 30, 2007. Born in Durham, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Maud (MacLean) Blaikie. After graduating from New Glasgow High School, she attended the Provincial Normal College in Truro. She taught school in Poplar Hill and Sundridge. Grace was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Scotsburn, where she taught Sunday School. Grace was also a member of Bethel Ladies Aid, and Meadowville AMS. Her enjoyment came from her family, tending to her gardens, knitting, and rug hooking. Her keen mind was a result of reading, completing daily crosswords, and keeping up with current affairs. She is survived by daughter, Carolyn MacKenzie, Meadowville; son, James (Joan), Meadowville; daughters, Connie (Brian) Campbell, Scotsburn; Eleanor (Earle) Lutes, Mitchell, Ontario; grandchildren: Jeff (Missy) MacKenzie; Jennifer (Mark) Dykstra; Jamie (Tanya) MacKenzie; Janice (Lincoln) Hiltz; Stephanie (William) Crawford; Bobby Clark; Matthew and Craig Campbell; Naomi and Jessica Lutes; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Nick, Adam, Dylan, Mason, Kelsey, and Taylor. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred; son, Bobby; brother, Lawrence and sister, Ethel Langille. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. A service celebrating Grace's life will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in Bethel Presbyterian Church, Scotsburn with Mrs. Jessie Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. Donations in her memory may be made to the Bethel Presbyterian Church, Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
