Mary Theresa Macgillivray

ARDNESS - Mary Theresa MacGillivray, 79, Ardness, passed away Friday, May 4, 2007, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish, after a long and valiant struggle with kidney disease. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Maggie McGee. In earlier years she had been employed as a security guard at Arisaig Fisheries and had been a caregiver to many. She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Lismore. She was a longtime member of the United Ostomy Association of Canada, Antigonish Chapter. Theresa loved children and over the years helped to raise a number of foster children. She loved all God's creatures, big and small. Surviving are her son, Allan Edward MacGillivray, Ardness; sisters-in-law, Harriet MacDougall, Arisaig; Agnes (Hughie) MacGillivray, Ardness; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Lawrence MacGillivray; sister, Isabel McGee; brother, A.D. McGee. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. today in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, celebrant, Father Victor Ozoufuanya. Interment will be in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Bailey's Brook. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Martha's Dialysis Unit, the United Ostomy Association of Canada, Antigonish Chapter or Charity Fund of St. Mary's Parish, Lismore. Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His mercy endures forever." Ps. 118:29
