At Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Thursday, August 27, 2009, of Helen Kathleen Smith, formerly of Tyne Valley, in her 100th year. Wife of the late Donald Smith.
Born in Northam on March 31, 1910, daughter of the late Edmund and Sarah Jane (MacArthur) Maynard. Mother-in-law of Geraldine Smith, Athens, Georgia. Predeceased by her son, Donald (2009); brothers, Leigh and Arthur; and sisters, Maude Frankel, Flora Thomson, Emily Newcombe, Gertrude Jack, Edith MacKay.
Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours on Friday, 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. Interment to follow in the Freeland United Cemetery.
Memorials to the Stewart Memorial Hospital Foundation or St. James Anglican Church would be greatly appreciated.
