Passed away peacefully at The Agnes Pratt Home on December 23, 2009, after a lengthy illness, in her 95th year, of Creston South. Predeceased by husband Levi Hodder (1996); daughters: Hazel (1937), Marie Hodder (2001); step-daughter, Ann Dent (2005); grandson, David Hodder (1984), and her sons-in-law: Clarence Hodder (2001) and Micky Dent (1994). She leaves to cherish her memory, sons: Donald (Joan), Harvey (Pearl) and Enos (Edith); daughters: Carol Cleal (Sam), and Donna Foote (Gary); 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Violet Brushett (Marystown), and Muriel Mayo (Marystown). A sincere thanks to the professional staff at The Agnes Pratt Home, especially the teams on Southview and Pratt Place. Resting at the Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South. Visiting hours are: Thursday, December 24, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 26, 2:00 - 9:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Monday, December 28, 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral service will take place from The Salvation Army Faith and Hope Citadel, Creston South at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28th. “Aunt Becky”, as she was known to her many friends, was an independent thinker, community worker, faithful adherent/ volunteer in her church and just a wonderful cook, quilt-maker and knitter in the Newfoundland traditions.
