It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Garland F. (Gar) MacQuarrie, 93, at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 4, 2017. Gar was born in Sydney on June 29, 1923 to Archibald MacQuarrie and Clara (Powell).
In his early years , Gar played rugby for Sydney Academy, enjoyed hunting, sailing, harness racing and was a member of the Y’s Mens Club of Sydney, his investment club, mixed bridge club, supper club, and the Social Club at St .George’s Parish where he looked after the bar.
