It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Marilyn Elaine McCrea on February 25, 2013, after an unexpected illness. Marilyn is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Velma McCrea. Mom leaves behind her son Scott Patterson (Carrie); and daughter Jennifer Dickie (Jeff); and their father Gary Patterson; she also leaves behind her sisters, Judy (Gary), and Brenda; brother Richard (Nancy); grandchildren: Ashlie (Dale), Cassandra, Samantha, William, Destiny, Kiarra, Tegan, and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Jake, Hayden, and Jace; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, uncle and beloved friends. Marilyn loved people and could talk to anyone – which she usually did. Over the years, Marilyn was involved in numerous boards, charities, and organizations. Marilyn passionately gave untold time and energy to these worthwhile causes. In keeping with Marilyn’s life-long passion for literacy and learning, donations may be made to the Friends of the Moose Jaw Public Library, 461 Langdon Crescent, Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 0X6, or to a charity of choice. The Celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held at Minto United Church, 1036 Seventh Ave. N.W., on Saturday March 2, 2013 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In living memory of Marilyn, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
