It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected death of Edward Ginter on May 10, 2015, at his residence in Oromocto.
Born Jan. 29, 1929, in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Donovan) Ginter and husband of the late Jean (Newell) Ginter.
Edward proudly served in the Canadian Air Force for 27 years at various locations throughout Canada and Europe, and then went on to serve as an auditor for 11 years at CFB Gagetown. Cape Breton held a special place in Edward’s heart. He always looked forward to a trip back home. He was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed telling stories with the boys over a cup of tea at the Oromocto Mall Tims.
Edward is survived by his sons, Lawrence Ginter of Calgary, Alta., David Ginter (Gloria) of Dieppe, N.B. and John Ginter (Jennifer) of Lincoln, N.B.; one granddaughter Jaymie Wile of Edmonton, Alta.; one brother, Joseph Genter (Alma) of Dutch Brook, Cape Breton, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his wife and parents, Edward was predeceased by his daughter, Colleen Ginter.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Burton with Rev. Lori-Beth Sheffield-Bowles as officiant.
