At the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O’Leary, on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, of Edward Joseph Wedge of Howlan aged 87, veteran of Second World War, beloved husband of “Eileen” Irene (nee Gallant). Born at Fortune Cove on Aug. 18, 1922, son of the late Joseph and Rose (Gallant) Wedge. Dear father of Rose (Pat) McNally, Cascumpec; Wayne (Cindy), Howlan; Sharon (Adrian) Lynch, Foxley River. Stepfather of Gary (Renate) Gallant, Louis (Sharon) Gallant; Lloyd (Marilyn) Gallant, all of Ontario; and Sheila (Ray) McKinnon, Charlottetown. Loving grandfather of Leo and Tyler Lynch, Kristie and Matthew Wedge. Step-grandfather of Jamie, Nicole and Jennifer Gallant. Brother of Ferdinand Wedge, Tignish. Brother-in-law of Lorraine (Lynn) Gallant, Howlan; Arnett (Kathleen) Gallant, Ont.; Joseph Gallant, Tignish; and Gene Gallant, Charlottetown. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Wednesday 6-9 p.m. and Thursday until 10 a.m. then to St. Anthony’s Church, Woodstock, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
